I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who provides treatment for obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and other related disorders in children, adolescents, and adults.
- performing an assessment and evaluation
- providing a diagnosis
- developing a treatment plan
- providing individual therapy (will include family members as needed)
Therapy will always include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) when treating the individual with OCD. When treating OCD, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) has proven to be the most effective form of therapy treatment. For treatment of Trichotillomania and skin picking, Habit Reversal Therapy (HRT) has shown to be the most effective therapy. If my "client" is either a family member of somebody with OCD or in a relationship where one partner has OCD, then relational systems therapy may also be used.
It is very important to find a therapist who understands OC and Related Disorders and how to effectively treat them, as they are frequently misdiagnosed and can be exacerbated by ineffective treatment.
I am currently only doing teletherapy via video chat.
Intake forms can be mailed or emailed and payment can be done via credit card during our video session or by check sent in the mail. Sessions will be 45-50 minutes long and arranged by mutual agreement. Due to the nature of the internet, there is some potential for loss of privacy that the client will have to assume, but all measures will be taken to ensure as much privacy as possible.
The fee for a 60 minute initial intake assessment session is $190, and all follow-up 45-50 minute sessions are also $190. Sessions longer than 45-50 minutes are charged for the additional time pro rated. Advance notification will be provided for any fee changes.
Additionally, clients are expected to pay for services at the time services are rendered. Only credit cards are accepted at this time.
Clients are responsible for payment for any missed session or for any session for which the client failed to give at least 24 business hours notice of cancellation.
For clients who will not be using insurance and are self pay, a good faith estimate can be provided upon written request.
I am able to take limited insurance (PPO and POS); however, please note that I am out of network and am not on any panels. Clients will still be expected to pay the full amount for each session at the time of service, and insurance will be billed on the client's behalf. Please note that there are no guarantees that insurance will reimburse the client, and so the client will be responsible for the entire fee regardless of insurance reimbursement.
The information disclosed by a client is generally confidential and will not be released to any third party without written authorization from the client, except when required or permitted by law.
Exceptions to confidentiality include, but are not limited to, reporting child, elder, and dependent adult abuse, when a client makes a serious threat to harm a reasonably identifiable victim (including both self and others).
